Achieving ability to apply results from information theory to practical communication systems, acquistion of knowledge about state-of-the-art error control coding techniques, implementation of encoding and decoding algorithms in Matlab

Forward Error Correction

     

  • Linear Blockcodes
  • Convolutional codes and Viterbi decoding
  • Concatenated codes and turbo decoding
  • LDPC codes and belief propagation algorithm
  • EXIT chart analysis

Coded Modulation

     

  • Bit-interleaved coded modulation
  • Multi-level codes

Automatic Repeat Request

     

  • ARQ strategies (Stop&Wait, Go-Back-N, Selective Repeat)
